Morning Surgery: Monday - Friday
All surgeries are open access, with names being taken from 08:45 - 10.30
The time period from 10:30-11:00 is reserved for patients calling with urgent conditions that cannot wait until the next surgery
Afternoons: The reception staff take names for patients wishing to be seen, from 3:15pm. Patients are provided with an indicative consultation time to see the GP. Patients calling after 5:15pm may be seen if their problem is of an urgent nature that cannot wait until the next surgery. There are fewer consultation slots on a Thursday afternoon.
Evenings/weekends
You can now see a GP or other healthcare professional during:
- weekday evenings between 6.30pm and 8.00pm
- Saturdays and Sundays
Appointments may be available before 6.30pm in some areas.
To book an appointment, talk to your GP practice or visit their website. You may be able to get an appointment on the same day if required.
Depending on your area, you may be offered an appointment at one of these locations:
- your GP practice
- another local GP practice
- another local NHS service - such as a General Practice Hub
Extended Hours appointments are available on a Tuesday evening from 18:30-20:30, by pre-arranged appointments only. An appointment - for a telephone consultation or face to face consultation - can be requested via reception staff, in advance
Out of hours
Out of hours services are provided by PC24. To access services out of hours, call 111
Telephone advice is also available via NHS 111
